Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workday Consultant to serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for a client in Fremont. This is a 6-month contract with potential to extend. The role is 100% onsite. This contract role requires deep hands-on expertise in Workday configuration, security administration, and business process design and optimization.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting organizations that have successfully implemented, scaled, and maintained Workday environments. We welcome professionals with backgrounds in enterprise HRIS teams, former Workday consultants, independent Workday experts, and recently retired or transitioned Workday professionals.
In this role, you will provide both technical guidance and strategic recommendations while helping our team strengthen its internal Workday capabilities.
Contract Details
- Duration: 6 months
- Schedule: Part-time or full-time (up to 40 hours per week)
- Location: 100% onsite in Fremont, CA
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert support for Workday system configuration and administration
- Design, configure, and optimize Workday business processes
- Configure and maintain Workday security roles, domains, and permissions
- Recommend Workday best practices and scalable system solutions
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and identify root-cause resolutions
- Partner with stakeholders to design effective and sustainable Workday solutions
- Develop documentation, processes, and knowledge resources
- Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge transfer to build internal expertise
Preferred Workday Expertise
Strong experience with:
- Workday Business Process Configuration
- Workday Security Configuration and Administration
- Workday System Configuration
Experience supporting one or more of the following modules is highly preferred:
- Payroll
- Benefits
- Performance Management

Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday
- Strong expertise in Workday security architecture and business process design
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale Workday environments
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve configuration and process-related issues
- Experience providing guidance, training, and support to HR, Payroll, or HRIS teams
- Prior consulting experience or experience leading Workday implementations is a plus
